What We Do
Since its inception in 2017, Chiragh Educational Welfare Society (CEWS) has been dedicated to promoting education and social welfare.
We’ve successfully enrolled over 3,000 out-of-school children, including poor orphans and Afghan refugees, into educational institutions — a milestone that reflects our unwavering commitment to quality education and equal opportunity.
Through these efforts, we continue to empower vulnerable children to build brighter futures and become catalysts for positive change in their communities.
Women Empowerment
At Chiragh Educational Welfare Society (CEWS), we believe that empowering women means uplifting entire families and communities.
- Gendered Poverty: Women experience poverty differently and more severely, often due to social and economic inequalities.
- Violence & Abuse: Many women continue to face horrific acts such as acid attacks, domestic violence, and honor killings.
- Educational Barriers: The absence of a proper education system for women restricts growth and independence.
- Cultural Discrimination: Deep-seated social norms continue to limit women’s freedom, opportunities, and voice in society.
Education
At CEWS, we believe education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and building a stronger, more self-reliant nation.
- Lack of Awareness: Many parents remain unaware of the value of education, often due to poverty, cultural barriers, or lack of guidance.
- Limited Resources: Countless children are unable to attend school because their families cannot afford basic educational materials.
- Weak Institutional Support: Gaps in coordination between communities and education departments limit outreach and impact.
- Shortage of Educators: Rural and disadvantaged areas lack committed teachers and volunteers to support consistent learning.
Community
At Chiragh Educational Welfare Society (CEWS), we believe that real and lasting change begins within the community itself.
- Community Mobilization: CEWS engages local volunteers, teachers, elders, and religious leaders to implement development programs that respond to real community needs.
- Formation of COs: Establishing Community Organizations to ensure participation, transparency, and sustainability.
- Capacity Building: Providing leadership and management training to strengthen community decision-making.
- Shared Responsibility: Encouraging local contribution through volunteerism, materials, and active involvement.
